To register, you need to use our online portal to make an appointment to come and see us at one of our police stations. You must register within seven days. Please see our full checklist of what to bring with you to your appointment. When the process is complete we'll issue you with a Police Registration Certificate (PRC).
You could be fined £5,000 and jailed for six months if you don't register in accordance with your visa requirements.
Late registration could affect any future visa applications.
How to use our online portal
You'll need the following information/documents before you start the appointment process as the form can't be saved until it's been completed:
family members’ details (if required)
passport-style photo that you can upload
The first time you register, you'll have to create an account using a valid email address.
Once your account is set up, you can log in, complete the registration form and upload your photo (you must complete the form within 20 minutes). Click 'Submit'. Any missing information will be highlighted.
When you've submitted the form, you'll be sent a confirmation email and you can then book an appointment.
Select your nearest police station and search for the next ‘Available’ appointment.
Don't worry if this is after your seven-day limit – once the form has been completed, you've met your visa requirement.
Once you've selected the appointment time, you'll receive a confirmation email with appointment location and time. Please note, appointment times can vary each day and at each police station.
Please make sure that you attend ten minutes before your appointment time. If you're late we won't be unable to deal with your registration.
Please use the 'Go to the online portal' button at the bottom of this page to begin your registration.
If you lose or damage your certificate
Use the online portal to arrange an appointment to get a new certificate, costing £34.
If it's stolen, please report it to your local police station.
